In my talk I will address the role of remote communication means in healthcare as one of the most important elements of it. This method is an innovative way to bring healthcare professionals to collaborate on virtual patient cases. Technology is key for this process to work; it is the glue that brings all parties involved in healthcare together at some point. Ex. In Caitlyn’s case, a 2-years-old young lady with cystic fibrosis, remote collaboration can serve as a possible solution that can enhance her access to healthcare services and give support to her treatment. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, telehealth has gained significant popularity since it helps to reduce health care costs, enables better patient access to healthcare services, and improves patient care. (Kichloo et al., 2020).

The panel of doctors can lean on telehealth applications, the asynchronous exchange of data, symptoms, and emotions in Caitlin’s care. Moreover, the use of electronic health record (EHR) portals has given healthcare providers efficient ways to work apart and share vital patient pieces of data (Gajarawala & Pelkowski, 2020). Healthcare professionals will be able to leverage these remote collaboration tools, and the primary care physician will be able to synthesize the information they received from the experts and develop a coherent course of treatment for Caitlyn that will substantially improve her health and make it easier for her manage her cystic fibrosis (Kichloo et al., 2020).

Without any doubt, the VR pulmonary rehabilitation and physiotherapy will be used to assist Caitlyn’s recovery. This innovative approach can enhance the quality of Caitlyn’s treatment and mitigate the possibility of errors or misunderstandings in the medical diagnosis or treatment. Besides, regular interaction and teamwork among healthcare providers can improve patient outcomes and increase satisfaction (Kichloo et al., 2020).

Evidence-Based Practice Model to Develop Care Plan

To Accomplish these, the Professionals will emuluate the Evidence-Based Practice Model to Develop Care Plan.
The driving force for Caitlyn’s remote care plan was the Johns Hopkins Nursing Model, which is evidence-based and is also frequently quoted by the nurse (Tsistinas, 2020). Within this approach, there are three steps that allow evidence-based practice to be implemented: asking the Question, Finding Evidence, and Translation.

Practice question: Identification of a critical or clinical issue or practice question is the first step of the process. Strategies to Mitigate Challenges

For this matter, healthcare providers can work on caring culture and collaboration, as well as a way to organize the teams and use team expertise to overcome any challenges ahead of them. Encouraging a culture of compassion and mutual care should be those factors that facilitate the environment where staff understands that only coordinated work and effective communication help to solve problems (Bendowska & Baum, 2023). The gap can be filled through the provision of regular training, the creation of platforms for team members to cement together and also comprehend each other’s roles and functions.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration as Leverage for Improved Care

Conclusion As technological advancements stand, the face of modern healthcare is set to become more patient and more community-centered with the application of digital tools in patient care.
Telemedicine can help Caitlyn with cystic fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease which can’t be cured. It disposes of the necessity of physical visits thus, reduces the distance to a specialist. Disruptions of communication and transportation too are avoided. Discipline teams in the center of care are able to collaborate which leads them to share personalized care and health information. Through telemedicine, Caitlyn’s personalized care can be gave attention by considering her specific needs and preferences which may lead to improvement in her health.
